A wool store that got a stage
The building went up in the 1890s to sort and store wool before it was shipped out of Fremantle. The sawtooth roof let light onto the sorting floor. It sat empty for most of the 2000s.
In 2019 a group of musicians and sound engineers took the lease, built a stage at one end and a bar at the other, and opened in October with three local bands and a borrowed PA.

Every support act gets paid
A$300. That's the minimum fee for every support act, on every bill, paid on the night. Headliners get a door deal we put in writing before the show is announced.
Bands and agents: send us a link and some dates at bookings@thesawtooth.com.au. We reply to everything within two weeks.
A poster for every show
Every gig gets a two-colour poster, printed on our own screen press and pasted up on the wall outside. The pattern comes from the act's name, so no two are the same. Grab one from the bar on the night for A$10.
